Stephen Poliakoff's BBC Drama 'Gideons Daughter' was transmitted on Sunday 26th February, 2006 in which star Bill Nighy and Miranda Richardson in a story of grief and celebrity set in the intense spring and summer of New Labour's election victory and Princess Diana's death.
Both Bill Nighy and Emily Blunt each received Golden Globe awards for their performances in 'Gideon's Daughter'.

"This is the song that Gideon, played by Bill Nighy, is forced to listen to during his daughter’s last school assembly. The song is ostensibly about the famous novelist George Simenon’s sex life and his daughter’s sad death. As Gideon tries to video the song to preserve his daughter’s last day at school he realises the lyrics seem to be aimed straight at him personally.
